Couverture womenswear and accessories are concerned more with a lifestyle choice rather than the latest fashion trend. These are clothes that are infinitely wearable whilst still retaining a directional edge or, to quote designer Therese Rawsthorne, “they are really fresh and cool but you could still run for the bus in them.”

Couverture deliberately chooses individual labels rather than global brands. These include the likes of fashion cognoscenti favourite Minä Perhonen, exclusive to Couverture in the UK, languid dressing from European labels such as Indress and Elsa Esturgie, and sharp tailoring from Swedish designer Ann-Sofie Back.

Couverture has recently added a number of labels hailing from the States to its current selection. These include thirties-style label Lyell, a sleeper hit among the Hollywood A-list such as Natalie Portman, eponymous label Rachel Comey for a vintage inspired, rock and roll feel, a favourite with Maggie Gyllenhaal and Kirsten Dunst, and denim brand Jean Shop which uses Japanese selvedge denim fabrics to create jeans that are individually finished by hand.

Everyday glamour is in abundance from Belle, the hip sister shoe collection from Sigerson Morrison, or there are vintage inspired slingbacks from Megumi Ochi and relaxed slouchy boots in softest leather from Shofolk.  Statement jewellery from Megan Park will define even the simplest of summer dresses whilst Spanish designer Helena Rohner’s pure design aesthetic coupled with graphic clean lines create the perfect jewellery choice for a daytime look.

In order to offer a wide variety of styles and designers and to be able to continually change the direction in store, Couverture only ever buy small quantities of each style. As a result Couverture are unfortunately not able to extend the womenswear offer online. However items are available for sale by mail order.
