Lauren Child Book Signing: 4pm - 5pm

Couverture & The Garbstore celebrated the new book by Lauren Child, award winning children’s author of Clarice Bean and Charlie & Lola, by hosting a special afternoon where Lauren signed customers' copies of “Who Wants To Be A Poodle? I Don’t” – the charming tale of pampered poodle Trixie Twinkle Toes who secretly yearns to roll in the mud and paddle in puddles like a real dog!

Signed copies of other books by Lauren Child were also available including numbered limited edition “Clarice Bean That’s Me” in a slip case, edition of 1250, and “That Pesky Rat”.

A balloon artist enchanted younger customers by sculpting balloon ‘poodles’ in the colours of their choice whilst a wide selection of unique vintage poodle themed collectibles and one-off pieces were for sale including rare Steiff miniature poodles, American handbags with kitsch poodle scenes on the front, novelty ceramics and toys such as Pelham puppets dating from the fifties. Retro-style hand knitted wool poodles exclusive to Couverture were also available for a limited period only.
